A Song of Ice
March 18, 2018

A winter wedding isn't most couples' first choice, but we think they can be some of the most beautiful. Ice can be an alluring inspiration, bringing colors like silver and blue into the mix. There's something intimate about winter in itself — the perfect time to snuggle up and spend time with loved ones. It can be the perfect time of year to celebrate love.

We all worked together for this shoot to inspire more brides to embrace the beauty of a winter wedding. Event Florals by Christine pulled in white ostrich feathers and cotton to bring these floral arrangements to the next-level. These soft and romantic elements perfectly balanced the geometric-ice-inspired designs we put together for the invitation suite and place cards. We also loved working with silver — it seems to be a forgotten metallic these days, (especially with the popularity of rose gold), but it has so much versatility and timelessness. It worked perfectly here with the ice-blue tones, especially in the alabaster dishware.

This couple just radiated love. They could not stop smiling at each other, and it was easy to forget it wasn't really their wedding day. Samantha Jay Photography has such a warm and calming energy that brings out the best in her subjects. She makes it easy to feel comfortable in front of the camera. This whole day was full of talented professionals doing what they do best, and it made for a fun and beautiful experience. Though this was a styled wedding, the reactions and emotions you see in Sam's photos are 100% authentic.
