Southern Charm
October 6, 2018

At a bridal expo back in March 2017, Anna Lee's friend entered her name for a chance to win free save the dates from us. The next day, we drew her name, and little did we know what an amazing wedding we were getting into! Anna Lee & Tim met while at Clemson University in South Carolina, and they were planning to travel back down for their big day. We all quickly hit it off, and it wasn't long before I was helping them with full-service planning and design. We were so excited to help with their destination wedding! After over a year and a half, seeing their big day come together literally brought tears to my eyes. This was such a special couple, and I will never forget our experience working together.

Once we solidified a date and a venue, we started off with the save the date design. Custom watercolors, hand-lettering, and foil stamping wowed their guests and incorporated so much personalization right off the bat. The invitations followed the same style, showcasing a watercolor of the Sleepy Hollow Barn. A self-enclosed folder gave guests all the details they needed, including a link to their custom-designed website. The RSVP cards displayed the same barn watercolor, and gold foil embellishments gave an extra pop to the whole suite. We created a custom wax stamp to seal the deal, and they were off.

The ladies got ready at the beautiful Inn at Patrick Square, where Anna Lee's mom was their to help her daughter into her dress and accessories. Sweet moments are always shared during this quiet time in the morning before the wedding, including the bride reading a hand-written letter from her soon-to-be-husband. We encourage all of our couples to write a letter to their spouses for the wedding morning, and they are always more than willing. The photos never disappoint, and it creates even more excited anticipation for either a first-look or walking down the aisle.

The bride and groom did their first look in the meadows on the property, and it couldn't have been a more romantic, secluded setting. Their fall color palette of burgundy and plum tones, subtle blush pinks, and a hint of dusty blue worked in perfect harmony with a traditional antique gold. Renee Burroughs Design pulled out all the stops to bring our vision to life. Anemones, thistles, roses, and protea all joined forces for a stunning bridal bouquet. The colors popped beautifully against the mix-and-match blush bridesmaid dresses. Her designs literally brought our watercolors to life!

The barn at Sleepy Hollow looked like a dream, with fairy lights and metallic gold touches in every corner. A long head table set for 30 overlooked the dance floor, adorned with a floral runner, brass and pink glass candle sticks, and gold votives. From the cake to the florals to the table numbers, every element meshed together in a beautiful and cohesive way. Seeing the space come together brought the couple to tears, and the guests loved the fairytale atmosphere. A self-serve bar and amazing barbeque from The Pompous Pig kept the feel of the barn venue casual without diminishing any of the details.

Anna Lee & Tim were one of our favorite couples we've ever worked with, and seeing how much love surrounded them on their day was a testament to what amazing people they truly are. They had one of the largest bridal parties we've ever worked with, but they were also one of the sweetest! Groomsmen and bridesmaids assisted with little things throughout the day which made our job a lot easier. They were attentive, clearly very close with the bride and groom, and just so much fun! The brand new Mr. & Mrs. Sattler spent their evening surrounded by their loved ones, dancing and celebrating through the night. It was a bittersweet moment to see this wedding day come and go, and we are so happy that we could make Anna Lee & Tim's wedding dreams come true!
